Though we were made in the image of God, in His likeness, we are not pure light.  The first man Adam was created in perfection, but in his rebellion, all of mankind was thrust into darkness.  Despite this new state of man, God remained light.  He is glorious in His perfection and majestic in His beauty.  He came in the person of His Son, in the likeness of man, yet without sin, to redeem for Himself a possession that is treasured.  The offer has gone out into the world for men to turn from their rebellion toward the One True God in humble submission.  Trust in Christ Jesus and you will be set free from the bondage of sin, having become free in Him to live a life that is pleasing to your Creator and Redeemer.
